The Southshore

Lake Pontchartrain’s south shore areas are mostly made up of the city of New Orleans.  Lake Pontchartrain forms the northern boundary of the city of New Orleans, which is in Orleans Parish. The two largest suburbs closest to New Orleans are Metairie and Kenner. The next closest suburbs are on the Northshore of Lake Pontchartrain in the Mandeville and Covington area.
